Instruments used on the album are combination of istrian traditional instruments (istrian bagpipes, fiddle, tambura), world traditional instruments (cajon, bagpipes, kaval) and well known instruments (guitar, bass, accordion). With this synergy of instruments a characteristical sound is created which, in combination with the songs, leads through Istrian history, through the valley of the mills (croatian: dolina mlinova) – area near Pazin where Vejas creativity takes part.

Recording was done at several places. It begun in winter 2012. in an improvized studio in the valley of the mills, which resulted releasing Veja’s first single Črni orko. Recording then moves to Pula in Studio Partyzan, which at the sime time some details as Gorans vocals are recorded at Studio Morris in Zagreb. Recording was finaly over in fall 2013., when the process of mixing and mastering started.

Mixing was mostly done in Studio Partyzan in Pula by Veja’s sound designer and producer Marijan Jelenić, with some help from Filip Vidović from Studio Morris on songs “Anka” and “Marija”.

Mastering was done in Vibe studio (Zagreb, Croatia) by Martin Swan, a well recognized world music producer, who was helped by Konrad Lovrenčić, who plays bass in several ethno bands.
